problem is the export to Excel [message #298242]

Hi,

The only problem i faced is the export to Excel. The first time I tried to export, nothing happened and my screen went blank. The second time, it ran for about 30 minutes and then I received attached error message.
"QUERY CANCELLED BECAUSE IT EXCEEDED QUERY TIEM LIMIT.."
so any one plzz help me out..

If you can use the TOAD then it would be very simple to transfer the data to the excel. Try this

Bt i want to export it from Dicoverer DesKTOP/plus itself.
can u plzzz tell me how to oversome this ERROR...

Hi,
No i m nt used any dde package.
the report is based on a custom folder and in that smiple sql query is written.

Did you retrieve all rows first (before starting the export)?
How many were there?

its nearly around 2290rows

That is weird, because the query time limit shouldn't go off for just the export I think. That limit has to do with retrieving rows, not with exporting them.
Still, it might be worth setting the limit higher and find out if the export then works. Or schedule the workbook and export the result, instead of doing it runtime.

I think you have to increase the query run time in discoverer.
Click on Toool Menu and the Option menu.

Then go Query Governer Tab.

Increase the time for running the query in discoverer.

Put that to maximum time.

Prevent queries from running longer then

I guess that will solve your problem.
