Hi all,

i m new in oracle field so plz help me out how and when we use the regular expressions in oracle. if possible then plz explain with example.

regular expression are similar to the text manipulation function provided by orcle.but provide added advantages/flexibility over the normal function.and for examples search google.

Hi,

it is a pity you did not have a look OraFAQ Forum Guide (the first post in the forum in yellow), especially the Useful Sites tab.

Generally, regular expressions are common concept. You can read about it eg. at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regular_expression
