Hi All,
My DBA says that our Database is on a SAN, the need for separation of data and index is no longer
required from a hardware perspective.
And, with locally managed tablespaces with automatic extent sizing and automatic segment space
management, fragmentation is supposed to be a thing of the past. "
Is this true that we dont need to create a separate tablespaces for Indexes anymore?
We are using 10g on Solaris.

Thanks and Regards
Sudip

On a very large DB, you may want to backup table tablespaces more often than index tablespaces to save time.
