How do you stop the Primary Database from attempting to send data to the Standby Database (currently using ARCHIVER)? Excuse if it's a dumb question, but the answer isn't where I expected it to be in the documentation.

To answer my own question, I simply used:

alter system set log_archive_dest_state_2=DEFER;

That should take care of it. Embarassed

#log_archive_dest_state_2=ENABLE (in pfile)
