I got my Kubuntu box back after 3 months and don't have the passwords (username&password)fr Oracle 10g XE. I am the sole user/owner = Root.
I cannot find the password file and uninstalled/reinstalled OracleXE. But, I can't configure because it's already configured from last time, so I cannot select the new password.
This is so bad I'm thinking of just reinstalling the whole thing, Linux and all.
If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.

Hi,

Are you lost Oracle User Password ( sys password) or linux user ( root password ) which password you lost.
if oracle password you lost should try like
"linux@oracle]sqlplus "/ as sysdba"
or create new password file.

regards
Taj
