Pls help me in understanding this...

How does the Oracle with the raw special file (after binding the raw file to Logical volume (with Filesystem) ?

How does it read the raw special file ? When I tried to use read() system call in a sample pgm with the raw file as input, I do get error "Invalid argument".

Pls guide me to the correct doc.

Can you please give more info on the program where you are reading and the name of the logical mount. Also, can you please provide me some information of UTL_FILE_DIR variable value in the database.

Cheers
