Hi all,
I have only installed a couple of 10g servers yet; and I am having problems with the OracleCSService on my Windows 2003. The OracleCSService shows 'starting' on its status. While installing the database server I did receive the following error and I ignored it:
Error:
OS error in starting service
OracleCSService
After some research it seems this service is important for ASM(Automatic Storage Management). ASM probably also needs another service OracleASMService+ASM,but I dont see it anywhere installed or running on my pc. For now I have disabled the service, and havent really encountered any errors using the DB. However I did like resolve this or atleast have an idea of whats going on...
Can anyone please tell me
-This is service used by anything else on DB?
-Can I uninstall and reinstall
