I have Oracle Application server 10G - version 9.0.4 installed with patchset 1.
For Cpu patches can I directly install latest july patch 2006, without worrying about earlier cpu patches?
or should it be on some minimal level before applying julcpu?

It is better that u must read the Readme.txt file. It will show u the pre-requisites for the patch u r going to install. If there is nothing then u can install it direct.
