My server configuration details are as under:
P3 1133 MhZ With Dual Processor
1 GB SD RAM with Cache
Windows 2000 Server - SP4

Oracle 8.1.5.0.0
Client Developer 6i
Client connection 23-25 as same time.

My server performance going to slow many times in a day.
Thats why I m think over to Upgrade my oracle version to improve my performance. I m think over to upgrade to Oracle 8.1.7.3 or Oracle 9i. Which one is better for me in same server configuration. And is it compatible with Developer 6i.

Please guide us.

Bye.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Manish

Hi,

Upgrading the DB is most likely not going to solve your performance problems. You need to analyse the situation and try to understand what is performing badly and why.

BTW: Compatibility info can be looked-up on Metalik Certify.

Best regards.
