I'm an accountant and my employer would like one of us to learn Oracle. We do have IS folks who handle most of the Oracle work, but they are looking for someone with an accounting background to write reports for the users. I'm not even sure that's the proper term "write reports". We have a web-based system where people enter financial and statistical data. With all this information gathered, we need to find more ways to generate reports summarizing everything. And we would need to find ways to export the data for upload into other systems (not sure what format would be needed). Where would someone like me begin to learn this?
