Sorry I cannot access that document. I googled with Metalink and DocId Note: 16365.1 for a web address and the link prompts me for a usename and password. Is there another way of accessing the document?

Thanks

Have been able to view this document. It uses Alter user to change the password which is not recommended since it does no support password verification.

It does not mention OCIPasswordChange()

Hi,

Alter user is a perfectly valid user maintenance command but does rely on the application/user knowing what they are doing.

The since you cannot use ocipasswordchange and you do not wish to use the suggested approach by oracle I guess you are a little stuck.

Maybe you should attempt to solve your problem with another approach.

Thanks for replying

I guess that I will have to think of a way around it. Possibly calling some verification check before using ALTER USER

Thanks again!
