I have an archive log file which is getting full because of that my database is hung and i
can not even log in as sys . Now how do i resolve the issue. How do i trace an oracle
session with a Unix session on HP UNIX. Would the process be different on AIX.

Can someone explain to me step by step if i happen to encounter this situation, apparently
i would have to copy my archive logs to another destination. How would i do that step
by step with the unix commands.

Hi,

I suggest you to move archive files to another disk to resume database.
We archive our archive log files each our to the tape library and also copy them to another server. So we have to copies of archive log files.
You should use some tool to get alert when archive files disk is almost full. I use Twisted Nail for Oracle to check free space on the archive logs disk. I get email notification when free space is less than 300 MB.

Best regards,
Primoz
