When I create a new MFC.exe application and add a new class... a subclass of CRecordset... I get the following error:
ORA-12541: TNS:no listener
Driver's SQLConnectAttr failed
I guess this is a problem pertaining to setting up of listeners. I am new to Oracle and don't know how to configure listeners. Any help is appreciated.

Are you using Windows machine ?
then first install the oracle client in your PC.
then in that client open the Start-->Programfiles --> Oracle 817 --> Network Administrator-->Net 8 Assistant
Now click on this,You will be displayed a dialog
Now on the tree in the left side
Click on Local -->Serivce Naming
Now after selecting this click the + side left to you.
1.Enter some name you like to use in Net Service name
2.Select the protocol , default select TCP/IP (first one)
3.Give the host name or IP and Port (default 1521)
4.Now enter the DSN name you want to map, ask the DBA for this
5.Now click test ........
It fails,
Go to the link and change the default username and password you have been provided by DBA.
Hope you get this.
