Can anyone tell me which edition of oracle or any RDBMS is suitable for Unix/Linux and how it can be downloaded as free.
I am currently running FreeBSD Unix and Knoppix in my pc.

Hi,

You can download Oracle for Linux, SUN Solaris, AIX, HP-UX, etc. from OTN - http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/database/oracle10g/index.html

You might have problems loading Oracle on Knoppix (and FreeBSD for that matter). I suggest you download RedHat/ Fedora/ SUSE/ Mandrake or one of the other Linux distributions that is "known to work".

Best regards.

Frank
