I have a file named as follows:

20031014_out.txt

Is there a way that I could just read the name of this file before ftping it. I have to just read the date part(20031014) and verify it with previous ftped file date(lets say 20031012). If it is newer start ftpng it otherwise ignore it. I need a unix shell script that does the above and the file resides on a windows server. The file date will change once a month.

Thanks,
Neha
