We currently have a remote standby database which is at Vn . 8.1.7.4. I would like to upgrade this database a few days ahead of the source(Production)database. Is it possible to apply the logs from the 8.1.7.4 system to the upgraded system?

Hi,

It may just work if you keep the COMPATIBILITY of both databases to 8.1.7. However, this is a bit too daring for comfort.

Best regards.

Thanks Frank, I thought it might be a silly idea! Never mind!
