Somebody told me the max size of a ftp file can not exceed 2 GB on UNIX platform.  I would like to verify this issue.

Hi,

I don't think that is true. Nevertheless, some older filesystem types can only accomodate files smaller than 2 Gig, or needs to be created with the "largefiles" option enabled. Example:

# mkfs -F vxfs -o largefiles,L /dev/dsk/c0b0t0d0p2 4000M
