I have a SUN Solaris E450 with 4 CPU's running Oracle 8.0.5. Right now, I'm doing a mammoth amount of joins, and it's taking extraordinarily long. One of my managers noticed that only 1 out of the 4 CPU's was being utilized by the Oracle server. Is there anything in Oracle that will allow me to specify how many CPU's I can use? Conversely, is there anything in Solaris that will allow me to designate x amount of CPU's to the Oracle server? Thanks.

CPU_COUNT=4 in your initSID.ora file.
