Just installed 8.1.6 on Sun SPARC Solaris box - when I try to run anything from the "bin" directory (netasst, svrmgrl) I get the following message:
netasst:
****ORACLE_HOME environment variable not set!
ORACLE_HOME should be set to the main
directory that contains Oracle products.
Set and export ORACLE_HOME, then re-run.

svrmgrl:
NL-00853: Message 853 not found; No message file for product=network, facility=N
L [[]] [[./svrmgrl]] [[]]

Any ideas? Tks !

Turns out that none of the Environment Variables had been set in the .login file for the "Oracle" user on the Unix box. See DOCID 108306.1 at METALINK for more info. Thanks for your help Grant !
