Do you know anything about getting OCCI programs to compile on non-MS compilers?

I have successfully compiled C programs using OCI with GCC, but have had problems with OCCI.

Looks like problems with occi include files at the moment; they ARE included, but the objects are
invisible to the compiler; no I don't understand it yet. Prime suspects at the moment are environment
variables needed, possible problems with precompiler directives in occi.h and other occi headers.

I'm willing to share the results once I get them.

Has anyone found a solution? It appears that name mangling is the problem. Oracle only saw fit to include libraries for MSVC.
