I am trying to check that a new customer is 18 years old, here is my code:

DECLARE
valid_dob NUMBER :=
(select add_months(sysdate,-12)from dual)*18;
BEGIN
IF
:cust.cd_o_b < valid_dob THEN
DISPLAY_TOO_YOUNG_ALERT;
ELSE
DO_SOMETHING_ELSE
END IF;
END;

I am getting errors, can anyone tell me what is wrong.
