Reports performance affacted by th index? [message #89129]

I have two reports. One report has better performance when i had dropped a index on a table (execute time from 9hrs dropped to 3.5 hrs). However, the performance of another report which retrieve data on the same table will become worse. Can any one tell me what happen? Why a report will become better when i dropped a index?

Hi,

Check the explain plan before droping the index and after
index is dropped.In one of the case it is likely to do full table scan.
