When I am writing SQL in the oracle reports editor,
when I click 'COMPILE', sometimes it actually
starts "FORMATTING PAGE 1". I do NOT want this
to occur. Is there a button I can turn off to
disallow this event from happening?

Hi Ron:

I am also working on Reports 6i and have this problem all you have to do is come out of "Preview" mode and get on to "Layout Editor" or "Object Navigator" to write code and compiling it.
