I have oracle 8i(8.1.7) enterprise edition installed on my win 2000 system. i've installed the Forms and Reports 6i softwares recently. The software has got installed but i am unable to configure the database so that i can access it from forms and generate reports from reports 6i.

please give the way to configure it. Will there be any difference if database changes (9i or 10g).

On Windows NT/2000/2003 to connect Oracle hrough D2K one need to follow:

1. Create a service.

2. Then copy the service from tnsnames.ora in oracle dir to tnsnames.ora of the D2K

Then access the Oracle through D2K using the service name or if u have give Global database name as Oracle then by default oracle service is created so try to access Oracle by giving Oracle while connecting

Hope it works.
