Is it possible to query a non database block?

I mean can i press F2 and the form will be in query mode where the query block is a non data base block.

  please answer as soon as possible

If a block was a database block, and you entered a query, it would query the database table and return records that match the query.

If you have a non-database block - ie not based on a database table - and you entered a query, what would you expect it to do? Where would it pull data from?
