dear sir, pls help me .
i have field with varchar2(22) datatype.i want to apply the autonumber on this.once i applied that , it never goes further from 10. it stops at the 10..
pls help me how i can apply the autonumber on this field..
thx
example////

name datatype
id varchar2(10)
pls apply auto number...

If you want to store numeric value into this field why you want to define datatype as varchar2.Because number fields are much flexible and data retrieval is also fast.
