Depending on how much manipulation of the data you want to do, you can either use the "Get External Data" wizard under the "Data" menu in Excel or open up the "Visual Basic Editor" from the Tools -> Macros menu and code your connection string and SQL in a module there.

Further to that, I would suggest that you start recording a macro, then use the get external data wizard. You can then open up the vb editor & copy & paste the code into your script.
