Big Problem - FRM-40734 Character Corruption [message #83380]

We use Developer 6 with Patch7 and we have a problem. When we close a form and our program return to the general menu form. In some case we have some character corruption problem on the first words of the strings and the error FRM-40734 Internal Error: PL/SQL error Occurred after this the Form Runtime crash. Someone can help me? My english is terrible but for more information i will ask help!

if you are a licensed user then you better ask oracle at metalink.com. if there is a patch for this problem.
it seems that one of the patches is causing the problem.
standard installation (without patches) shouldnt cause this problem.

Unfortunately we are obliged to install patch7.
I have notice that only the first eight character of the strings are corrupted i don't know if this is significant. For the Metalink...i'm not sure that the Developer 6 is still supported...i search on Metalink but i have no found similiar problem.

Is it happening to all of your Forms? If not, use Forms Runtime Diagnostics on the specific form that is blowing up. Another option would be to make sure that you are handling exceptions in all of your triggers code, program units and libraries.

I had this problem, too. The reason was that i had forgoten the .DLL file . I hope that helps you.

Ich hatte das selbe Problem, der grund war das ich die .DLL Datei vergessen habe. Hoffe das hilft dir.
