How is post text item is differ from when validate item [message #82434]

Hi All!
Whats the differnece between these triggers .why most of the time we use when validate item..even they fire on same event.

Hi Rishi,

they DON'T fire on the same event. WHEN-VALIDATE-ITEM will fire upon attempt to "leave" an item, after it has been modified in some way, whereas POST-TEXT-ITEM will fire when you "leave" the item, regardless of if it has been modified.

Adding to that, when validate will fire at the time of committing.. but post text item will not...
