Hi All,

I'm invoking excel.exe from forms using DDE.Package and this opens Book1.xls and my data is exported to Book1.xls(default file)

Again I call my export function and it opens Book2.xls(Since Book1.xls is not closed),and my data is exported to Book1.xls(I've hardcoded this name),but Book2.xls which the user see will be blank.

I Need to get the name of the latest excel file name to handle this case, how can I do this using DDE

hi,
This is another option for file handling.

Using TEXT_IO package.
Export your data from forms6i to excel.
