can you open reports background engine from forms? [message #82045]

does anyone know if there is a way to open only reports background engine (with no report) from forms? the first time my form users try to run a report it gives them an error but opens the background engine. the second time they try to run it it will work, presumably because the background engine is already open. does anyone have a solution?

U can close the report server by adding the parameter using add_parameter(..,'ORACLE_SHUTDOWN',.. 'YES');
