Well, one thing i remember of version 8.0.4 is the W2K bug.
You can install it when you set your system time [[clock]]of your pc before year 2000 {maybe restart pc needed]]
After installing, you can set the time back to today...

Hi,
Thanx a ton for ur reply...now DEVELOPER workin fine.
I have one more problem of ORACLE9iAS installation.During installation a screen "Existing Oracle9iAS Single Sign-On" pops up asking hostname & port no. for the existing instance of Oracle9iAS Single Sign-On. I have installed "Oracle9iAS Infrastructure" but i'm gr8 trouble installing "Oracle9i Application Server" with these hostnames & port no.
I have tried the hostname as given in its help as 'Hostname.domain' like 'computer_name.rahul.com' but its not workin at all.It displays the error message as "An error occurred while attempting to verify your hostname & port. Please verify these values.Return valuefrom SSORunning function is INVALID".

Plz help...
I'm in gr8 trouble

Thanx in Advance

you are messign up with installations of oracle versions on 1 pc?:)
be carefull!!
i can tell you this.
i dont know what the "Existing Oracle9iAS Single Sign-On" pop is but i installed mij oracle 9ias like:
you know it has 3 cd's..
i ran the first cd..while the installation started.. it prompted me to run my internetconnection to my ISP.
i did..i guess that oracle uses my default network settings automatically to get the values of host and port no. the installation went suscessful...
i know of previous versions that used "localhost" for the hostname, the portnumber i dont remember ..
you should be careful with more than 1 oraclehome.
i advice you to install it on a clean pc for test
but oracle may should autodetect network/host settings during installation.
