I have seen the "Oracle Real Application Server/ Parallel Server FAQ", but I have a question,All vision of the oracle product need a shared harddisk and cluster of OS surport?

Hi,

Yes, you will need to obtain special hardware:

1. A cluster interconnect (a normal network cable might work under lab conditions, but will be too slow for a production environment).

2. A Shared Storage Subsystem. Remember, RAC (or OPS) is one shared database. Instances from multiple machines will mount and access this single database.
