The easy way to upgrade from 7 to 9 is to use the export / import utilities. Export 7 database and then import it into the 9i database that you have created.

right , but what happens to the proc etc ?? do they get upgraded ? I would tend to think using mig to upgrade to 8/8i woud be a better bet .

What do you mean by proc - Do you mean pl/sql packages and procedures. If this is so they are objects which get exported when you do a full export and then they
will get imported as well.
If you look at options of upgrading. Full export and import is one of them. Using migration utility ODMA is another and yes running the migration scripts.

Yes you could migrate to 8i first and then to 9i but remember 9i is 64 bit. So you will need to migrated to a 8i 64 bit from 32 bit and then plan on upgrading to 9i.

- Please review the migration / utilities manual for further info.
