Hello all

Could an Index be disabled. If so, could you please tell me how.

I have a table with 50 million rows. What would be the time taken to add a new index to this table.

You can not disable indexes. Rather you drop the index and recreate it.

You can make your indexes unusable.
after the load rebuild your indexes.
