am running ORACLE 9i on Linux machine .... SHARED_POOL_SIZE is set to 9000000 ..i keep getting the error <ORA4031>
how much can i increase the SHARED_POOL_SIZE to over come this exception... RAM size is 1GB...
my application is a gaming application, when the load on the servers are high i get the above DB Error.
forgive me if this question seems to be sill am a rookie in this area..
please reply be back soon

Oracle have a white paper that say that you can use half to 2/3 of memory on the box for oracle. On our production machines we usually set SPS at 60-100 Mb all depending on Hit ratio's and size of DB. 9mb is way to small. Try 60mb and go from there.

Also a little tip, If you haven't got access to Metalink then try typing in your error message into google and see what you get back.
