why do we have to give an alias name in a sub query while creating a view?

it is not mandatory when u use original column names in select statement.

but if u use any functions on columns in query, you have to give valid alias name (it becomes column name of view)

1)create view v1 as select empno,ename from emp;
2) create view v2 as select empno,upper(ename) ENAME from emp;

3) create view v13(empno,ename) as
select empno,upper(ename) from emp;
