hi all,
i have one doubt.. Does the Oracle Parallel Server concept improves the performance of database over standalone server?
If so, how? Whether it speeds up the operation or not?
If not, under what circumstances we go for OPS?
Plz get back with all the reasons..

I dont think so.
Conceptually, you can use OPS if you have a cluster servers or something like that.
I mean, with OPS you have several machines where you start one database instance on each.
Each instance works separately but coordinated by an OPS process in order to 'save' data into the ONLY database stored in a disk array.
Hope this clarifies. At least it's what i got clear from documentation.
