Dear All,

Here, listener is up for 2 min 30 sec and getting down after that. We are trying to find out the solution but unable to.
We have asked os team to clear-up os logs. Here, we observe one more issue. Login prompt through telnet is taking very much time.

Please assist me to make it available.

You could do some simple investigation:

What is in /oracledb/app/oracle/OraHome_1/network/log/listener.log for the time of the failure?
Is this s a new installation that has never worked, or an old one that has stopped working?
What is your AIX release?
What is the reason for using the unpatched DB release 10.2.0.1, rather than a supported version?

You should enable trace for the listener, that may give you more information.

Note that 10.2.0.1 was never certified for AIX6, only AIX5. Is this installation actually legal? It certainly won't be supported.

Dear John,

This was done long back. We are not aware of supportive part. Last time we has asked os team to cleanup oslogs and after that listener started up. Now, again same issue occured after 2 years. Now os team has done their job. Even after that, listener is getting down after certain time.

Ashish Kumar Mahanta

Nothing particular there.
I think your client is stuck. Perhaps this will persuade him to become legal, so that he can get support.
