Can anyone confirm whether a database link from 12 to 9 is possible? According to MOS Doc ID 207303.1 such connectivity has never been supported, but I'm not bothered about that: I'ld like to know if it will actually work. My understanding of the docs,
http://docs.oracle.com/database/121/NETRF/sqlnet.htm#NETRF2010
is that if I set sqlnet.allowed_logon_version_client=8 on the 12.x side then I should be able to create a link to the 9.x database. Has anyone actually done this? It will take a long time to set up a test, and any insight now would be really helpful.
