Hello
I used to create oracle forms and I used "ds_windows_x86_101202_disk1" and "ds_windows_x86_101202_disk2" zip files . OS was windows XP.

Now I need to modify form and I get an error during installation.

what software should be used to develop simple oracle forms ?

Thanks

Forms is the software.

Which error did you get?

Did you set the compatibility mode to MS Windows XP (before starting the installation)? Consider doing it in Windows XP Mode (which can be installed for free on Windows 7). Here are Google results which might help you finish that task.

Personally, I installed VirtualBox, put Windows XP onto it and installed Developer Suite. Doing it that way, I don't have to reinstall everything when I get a new computer - I just copy the virtual machine and I'm ready to go.

Oracle JDeveloper 11g is an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) just like Eclipse, so you can use it to build any kind of Java application you want.

*Usually* compatibility works backwards. I don't use JDeveloper so I can't judge about that product, but - for example - you have problems while opening a 10g form with Forms 6i Builder (i.e. even if you can open it, you don't see any code so it is, actually, useless).

Anyway: why don't you try? You'll know the answer instantly.
