I have a oracle 10.2 database on windows xp.
I have a cold backup of the database.
Now i want to restore it without rman to different windows xp server having different drive
both server has same database name.

Do you mean that you have copies of the datafiles and controlfile? If so you need to start an instance on your new server off a parameter file with the control_files parameter pointing to your restored controlfile. Then STARTUP MOUNT, and issue a series of ALTER DATABASE RENAME FILE commands to update the controlfile with the location of everything else. Then OPEN RESETLOGS.
Easy.

In addition to John's post, you need to create and start an Oracle instance using oradim.

Oops, I didn't see the "without RMAN", you can read "Restoring the Auxiliary Database on a Different Host with Different Path Names".
