Hi All,

We are now in the analyzing phase of upgrading from Oracle Forms & Reports 10g R2 to 11g.

We are using Oracle Developer Suite 10g and accessing the Forms and Reports.

As per my understanding, for installing Oracle 11g Forms & Reports, Web Logic 11g is a requirement.

Is there any method to access Oracle 11g Forms & Reports, just like in Oracle 10g, without the need of an Application Server Software.

As we are using only Oracle Forms & Reports, will it be a right step to purchase Web Logic Server 11g.?

What about upgrading Oracle Forms 10g to Oracle Application Express?

Thanks in advance for your valuable suggestions.

Thanks,
Janet Wilson

(I'm still on 10g, but) as far as I can tell, there's no "separate" installation for Forms & Reports 11g (i.e. "Developer Suite 11g") as it was in previous versions. These products are now part of Fusion Middleware (but - unless I'm wrong - you can install only components you are interested in, i.e. Forms and Reports).

This is the documentation page, which includes upgrading (10g to 11g included) as well as deploying info.

Here are also Frequently asked questions regarding Forms 11g; have a look (I did, it's interesting).

Unfortunately, I'm just a developer and don't know much about (former) iAS or Web Logic Server installation and similar issues.
