Pressing Ctrl+C navigates to impdp command prompt. Read many articles, but the actual result of pressing Ctrl+C is not clear.

In a command line the result is usually that SIGINT is sent to the program which causes it to terminate.

But on getting the prompt, we can resume the job. So, it is still unclear that whether the job gets paused or it is terminated. Also, if the job gets paused, then does the job process still keeps alive in the background?

problem & solution have NOTHING to do with Oracle.
problem & solution are OS & shell dependent upon local customizations.

we don't even know which OS name or version you have.

Pressing <CTRL>-C causes IMPDP to put you into an interactive command mode. The process is obviously still running. You can decide to abort the export from there or allow it to continue.

What is the question here?

Data Pump, in the opposite of old exp/imp, run with 2 levels, a client part and a server part.
impdp is the client part, suspending or stopping it does not do anything on the server part.
So, Ctl-C on impdp makes you get a prompt so you can send command to the server part (like suspend or aborting the import process) or exiting the client (which does not stop the server part and so the import is still going on).
You can even start an impdp process (so a client part) and attach it to a server part which is running and has even not be started by you.
