HI All,

I have a following simple report :

Fiscal Qtr Product Numbers Heads
2012Q4 1100 220
2012Q3 1000 230
2012Q2 1200 200
2013Q1 700 190

What i need to show is a arrow up or down depending current qtr verus previous qtr. for example : for Product numbers it was gone up from Q3 to Q4 from 1000 to 1100 so i would like to show a green arrow indicating positive trend . similarly between Q3 and Q2 number when down, so a downwards red arrow indicating negative trend.

I know we can get the images through conditional formating but i am unable to do so for a difference between qtrs. Any suggestions on this would be appreciated. I am open to changing report design also to suit this.

Thanks
R

I don't use Business Intelligence. However, here's what I'd do in Reports.

Using LAG analytic function, I'd calculate previous record's product number. Then it is rather simple to compare the current product number with the previous one (as you have both values in the same record) and display "up" or "down" trend arrow.
