Hi,

Is it possible to recover files from backup tapes which are gone obsolete (as per retention policy)?

Thanks.

Yes if you have the complete physical files required for the restore.

Use the "CATALOG" command to re-catalog the backup files and then follow the recovery instructions in the fine
Oracle® Database Backup and Recovery Advanced User's Guide.
