Hello every body,

when I create a user with "PASSWORD EXPIRE" option in order to force him to change his password at first login, it has always worked for me when the client tool is SQLPLUS for example, but when it concerns SQL DEVELOPER it gives :

password has expired, unable to reset password, OCI driver not available

and it doesn't give any login window to change password as expected.

Does any one see what's wrong ?

Thanks,

Jdbc doesn't support password reset on login.

In Sql developer, go to preferences and enable option for oci thick driver. Your oracle home oci.dll can then be used to handle the password reset.

Thanks wvu1999 for reply.

I did it, I have been at :
Tools / preferences / database / advanced parameters,
and let :
USE OCI/THICK DRIVER enabled,

But it stil doesn't work, it gives me :
no coijdbc11 in java.library.path
?

You probably have "Connection Identifier" checked rather than choosing from "Network Alias" Change to "Network Alias" and it should work fine.

Some other precisions :
when i put USE OCI/THICK DRIVER at : ENABLED

all connections for all users are refused, with :

no ocijdbc11 in java.library.path

When you installed...the instant client, where did you install it to? Make sure your OS PATH points to it so it can find the ocijdbc11 driver.
