Hai all of you,

this is praveen. after installed Oracle(DB)opened the window for startup the database. i am unable to connect the database. i got these errors whenever type this command like

[oracle@oel5 ~]$ sqlplus / as sysdba
sql>startup
ORA-24324: service handle not initialized
ORA-24323: value not allowed
ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel

how to rectify these errors.

please, give the reply as early as .

Welcome to the forum - I hope you will both learn and contribute (as I try to do). Please read our OraFAQ Forum Guide and How to use [code] tags and make your code easier to read
You need to copy/paste your entire SQL*Plus session. For example, there must have been a few lines displayed before you typed "startup". And please enclose the copy/paste in [code] tags.

what clues exist within alert_SID.log file?
