Yes the font i am using for the rupees symbol is windows os based. I created a report on window os with new Rupees Symbol(i.e new font Rupee_Foradian)but i compile this report to Linux based compiler. After that compilation whenever go to run the report new rupees symbol appears as a `(entitled sign)instead of current rupees symbol.

Thanks

For Rupee symbol ,
WINDOWS :
Download Rupee Foradian.ttf and paste it On "FONTS" folder(You can see his under control panel).
To Display rupee symbol type "`" and change its font to Rupee Foradian

LINUX:
copy the file to /usr/share/fonts/truetype/Rupee/Rupee_Foradian.ttf
and log-off & log-in to see this font available everywhere.

A font should be installed on a server (that runs Reports services).

hi ramoradba,

i use oracle 10g with forms and reports 9i in linux server and windows 2003 server. i copied the rupee foradian font in windows server and its working fine.

I followed the steps you have mentioned in linux red hat.but its not working. i restarted the system twice but the rupee font does not appear in my report.

the same font is available in open office.org in linux. it shows the font has been copied and can be accessed in linux , but its not happening in oracle reports.

could you please help me what would be the problem

thanks in advance
