I have a text file that is being imported into an Oracle database through a procedure that uses text_io. Sections of the text file contains character data that has a space, then a dash, then another space. Example: 'data data data - data data'. When the file is imported the space and the dash are not brought over as they should be. The dash converts to a ?, a | or a combination of extended ASCII characters. Any ideas on what could cause something like this? Thank you in advance.
